‘Aggro Dr1ft’ Is Constructed on AI and Video Video games—Shouldn’t the Film Be Extra Enjoyable?

Even at 80 minutes, the movie is much less of a sensory assault than a slog, as eyes and thoughts rapidly acclimatize to its ostensibly alienating photos. On the danger of sounding like a philistine, shouldn’t a movie costarring a neon-orange Travis Scott smoking a blunt on a speedboat filled with mercenaries in demon masks be, effectively, extra enjoyable?

Aggro Dr1ft’s post-movie ambitions could in the end be vindicated, if solely by default. As of this writing, it has not secured a standard distributor, and rumors abound that Korine could distribute the movie himself, through the EDGLRD web site. (It can actually play higher streaming inside a classic RealPlayer window, or projected on a wall of a nightclub throughout a rave fueled by sketchy ecstasy, or tub salts.)

“The outdated world is over,” BO declares early on. Perhaps he, and Korine, are proper. Perhaps the films are on life assist, slogging via some lengthy interregnum, ready for some new, recent type to interchange it. However Aggro Dr1ft isn’t it.
